Security Shredding
Service, Inc.
Complete Range of Document Destruction Services

PRICING

Our service is Easy, Efficient, and Economical. Our On Site or Off Site service will save you 30%-50% over having your documents shredded by your own employees. Plus it is more secure and allows your employees to focus on their primary job.

We price our services on a Per Pound basis, which we believe is the fairest method of pricing document destruction services. We will provide you with a written per pound rate for your specific job. Generally our prices are based as follows:

On Site Shredding - A per pound rate with a minimum of $35.00. If we are providing you with
free security containers, usually shredding the first container will cost from
                               $35.00 to $43.00 per trip.

Off Site Shredding - A per pound rate plus a mobilization charge, if the job is less than 1,000
Pounds. There is no minimum charge for this service. If we are providing
free security containers, the cost for the first container is usually from $25
                               to $38.00 per trip.

Customer Delivers To Plant - A per pound rate with a minimum charge of $10.00.

Security Containers - There is no charge for furnishing or delivering security containers.

Security Recycling - A per pound rate with a mobilization charge. Sometimes, we are able to do
this service for free, if we are providing shredding service at the same time
                               at the same location.

Media & Product Destruction - A per pound rate depending on type and quantity of material.

COMPARING PRICING METHODS

Some document destruction firms charge by the minute or by the box. Gimmick pricing does not allow you to readily compare costs and discourages companies from improving efficiency. Charging by the minute provides protection for the shredding company, but it can be unfriendly to the customer. Some issues you should consider if comparing pricing methods:

  • When charging by the minute, some vendors include some or all of the collection time as part of the billable time. Make sure you are only charged for actual time the shredder is shredding.
  • We generally use a two-man crew on our On Site trucks so we can get the job done quicker. Per minute vendors use a one-man crew as there is no incentive to get the job done quicker.
  • Some material shreds slower than others. On a per minute basis, the customer pays for that extra time.
  • As a part of their sales pitch, some shredding vendors that use per minute pricing try to convert their per minute charges into a per pound price by using the shredder manufacturer’s rated capacity. Don’t fall for that. As you know, no machine operates consistently at capacity. Factors that affect the actual capacity include the type of material, the speed the operator feeds the shredder, how full of shredded paper the truck is, and the settings of the equipment controls.

The fact is per pound pricing is almost always less expensive for the customer.
